#frommybookpile Masterclass: Healing the Traumatized Self with Dr Ruth Lanius…what a wonderful way to finish the week at the Childhood Trauma Conference! Dr Ruth Lanius is a professor and psychiatrist and psychotherapist who is an expert in the neurobiology of trauma and PTSD. I loved this workshop and her demonstration of Deep Brain Re-orienting was inspiring…thank you Dr Ruth! Made it all the way through! Australian Childhood Foundation’s 4th Childhood Trauma Conference has been an amazing experience: inspiring, thought provoking, and affirming! I hung out with some amazing people in between busy days and chatted to some incredible leaders in the trauma and therapy worlds. When you find yourself with Dan Siegel, discussing bread while toasting your homemade gluten free sourdough at the Pan Pacific Hotel 😂 It’s not all conference here in Melbourne…🍸🍸 Says it all ❤️💛🖤 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day "Proud in Culture, Strong in Another day, another legend in the lift at the Pan Pacific next door to the Childhood Trauma Conference. Today it was great to chat with the legendary Louis Cozolino (The Science of Psychotherapy) after the joys of sharing such a small space with Steve Porges, Sue Carter, Cathy Malchiodi, Ed Tronick, and Ruth Lanius. Wow, just wow. Fangirl moments. Borders, gateways, crossing over, way-stations. This week at the Childhood Trauma Conference has been illuminating and affirming in equal measure. Walking with friends in the Botanic Gardens was an added bonus on our “free day” today.
